Rule 680IAC2-6. New Installations of Boilers |
Section 680IAC2-6-2. Inspection; stamping of serial number

(a) Upon completion of the installation, all boilers shall be inspected by a state inspector or an owner or user inspector. At the time of this internal or certificate inspection, each boiler shall be stamped by the inspector with a serial number of the state of Indiana preceded by the letters "IND", the letters and figures to be not less than one-fourth (¼) inch in height and arranged as:

(b) All cast iron boilers shall have securely attached to the front of the boiler a metal tag not less than one (1) inch in height which shall have the serial number of the state of Indiana stamped thereon.
(c) The number applied shall be one (1) from the series assigned to the state inspector or owner or user inspector in accordance with this article.
(d) The stamping shall not be concealed by lagging or paint and shall be exposed at all times.
