Section 680IAC2-6-1. Compliance with ASME code; special designs

   (a) No boiler, except existing boilers to be reinstalled and those exempted by the provisions of IC 22-12-1-20, shall hereafter be installed in this state unless it has been constructed, inspected, and stamped in conformity with the ASME code. Boilers requiring ASME data reports shall be registered with the National Board.

  (b) All new boiler installations, including reinstalled and secondhand boilers, shall be installed in accordance with the requirements of the ASME code adopted under this article.

  (c) Where special designs do not comply with the adopted standards in this article, their construction must be approved in accordance with the variance procedure established in IC 22-13-2-11 and as set forth in 680 IAC 2-2.
