    Under IC 13-14-8-5, notice is hereby given that on June 8, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. EDT, at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room A, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Water Pollution Control Board (board) will hold a public hearing as required under IC 13-14-8-5(b) in response to a citizens' petition presented to the board requesting rulemaking action to amend the surface water quality standard for chloride contained in 327 IAC 2-1-6 and 327 IAC 2-1.5-8.
    The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments from the public regarding initiation of a rulemaking action to amend the surface water quality standard for chloride contained in 327 IAC 2-1-6 and 327 IAC 2-1.5-8. The board, after considering the citizens' petition and testimony given at the hearing, will direct IDEM on whether a rulemaking action must be initiated to address concerns raised by the citizens' petition. All interested persons are invited and will be given reasonable opportunity to express their views concerning the citizens' petition and its request for rulemaking action to amend the surface water quality standard for chloride contained in 327 IAC 2-1-6 and 327 IAC 2-1.5-8. Oral statements will be heard, but, for the accuracy of the record, all comments should be submitted in writing.
