Section 655IAC1-2.1-98. Vehicle and Machinery Rescuer-Operations

  •    (a) The minimum training standards for Vehicle and Machinery Rescuer-Operations certification shall be as set out in those certain documents, being titled as follows:

    (1) NFPA 1670, Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents, Chapter 4 and Sections 8.2, 8.3, 12.2, and 12.3, 2009 Edition, published by NFPA, Batterymarch Park, Quincy, Massachusetts 02269, which is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this rule as if fully set out in this rule. NFPA 1500, NFPA 1521, and NFPA 1561 are:

    (A) not adopted;

    (B) not enforceable; and

    (C) referenced for information purposes only.

    (2) NFPA 472, Standard for Professional Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents, Chapter 5 and Sections 6.2 and 6.6, 2009 Edition, published by NFPA, Batterymarch Park, Quincy, Massachusetts 02269, which is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this rule as if fully set out in this rule. NFPA 1500, NFPA 1521, and NFPA 1561 are:

    (A) not adopted;

    (B) not enforceable; and

    (C) referenced for information purposes only.

      (b) The candidate shall have been certified as:

    (1) a Hazardous Materials First Responder-Operations or Hazardous Materials First Responder-Awareness/Operations;

    (2) an Indiana First Responder or any other certification issued by the Emergency Medical Services Commission under 836 IAC; and

    (3) a Technical Rescuer-Awareness.
