Section 575IAC1-9-80. Ventilation

Latest version.

   (a) The bus body must have a controlled ventilating system that maintains the proper quantity of air without opening the windows except in extremely warm weather.

  (b) A static nonclosable exhaust ventilator may be installed in the low pressure area of the roof.

  (c) A vent incorporated into an emergency roof hatch is allowable.

  (d) An adjustable roof ventilator may be installed if it is hinged and has a handle to provide an emergency exit.

  (e) Glow-in-the-dark reflective tape, or equivalent, may be used around the interior emergency exits only. Tape must not exceed one (1) inch in width. (State School Bus Committee; 575 IAC 1-9-80; filed Aug 15, 2014, 10:20 a.m.: 20140910-IR-575130244FRA)
