Section 405IAC8-2-3. "Benefit period" defined

  •    "Benefit period" means a specified time frame during which a member is concurrently enrolled in both a Medicare Part D plan and the Indiana prescription drug program. The benefit period shall not exceed one (1) calendar year beginning in January with limits specified in 405 IAC 8-6-4. The benefit shall not be paid or begin until the first day of the first month in which:

    (1) the member has an active effective date in a Medicare Part D plan; and

    (2) the member's Medicare Part D plan recognizes the member's enrollment in the IPDP.
