Section 35IAC2-5-5.1. Standard to determine degree of impairment for a covered impairment

  •   1. To determine the degree of impairment, for a member who has been found to have a covered impairment, the impairment standards contained in the most current edition of the American Medical Association: Guidelines of Disability Ratings in effect at the time the application for disability benefits is filed with the PERF board shall be used to determine the degree of impairment. Notwithstanding that INPRS reviews disability at the time of application, the degree of impairment may be reviewed pursuant to IC 36-8-8-13.7. Furthermore, the INPRS medical authority may determine a provisional degree of impairment until an applicant has reached Maximum Medical Improvement, as described in the American Medical Association: Guidelines of Disability Ratings.
