Section 345IAC5-6-1. Investigating scrapie incidents

Latest version.

(a) The state veterinarian shall do the following:

(1) Conduct an epidemiologic investigation of infected and source flocks.

(2) As a part of the investigation:

(A) designate high-risk and exposed animals; and

(B) identify animals that are to be traced.

(b) The state veterinarian shall make a reasonable effort to do the following:

(1) Trace scrapie-positive animals back to their flock of birth.

(2) Find high-risk and exposed animals.
