Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on September 25, 2014, at 8:30 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W064, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Medical Licensing Board of Indiana will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule to create 844 IAC 5-6, which establishes requirements for the prescribing of opioid controlled substances for pain management.

The proposed rule is needed to establish standards and protocols for the prescribing of controlled substances consistent with standard medical practices in pain management treatment as required by Senate Enrolled Act 246 (P.L.185-2013).

Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W072 and Legislative Services Agency, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
