Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on October 9, 2014, at 9:40 a.m., at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 1202 East 38th Street, Discovery Hall Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule that amends Indiana's reportable disease and swine health rules. The proposed rule adds and deletes diseases required to be reported to the Board of Animal Health, including aligning the state list with the United States Department of Agriculture National Animal Health Reporting System (NAHRS) and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) list. The proposed rule also establishes case reporting requirements for swine enteric coronavirus diseases (SECD). The proposed rule requires a herd owner whose herd meets the case definition for a SECD to submit and follow a herd management plan. The proposed rule makes other updates and amendments to the reportable disease and swine health rules.

The proposed rule does not impose costs beyond what is expressly required by state and federal law. Therefore, the proposed rule does not impose costs on a regulated entity that would require a justification statement under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3).

Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 1202 East 38th Street, Discovery Hall Suite 100 and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
