Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on September 16, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. EDT, at the Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 14, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission will hold a public hearing concerning a proposed rule to add 675 IAC 14-4.3-139.1 to amend the energy conservation provisions of the 2005 Indiana Residential Code and repeal 675 IAC 14-4.3-139.

The Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has authority to adopt this rule under IC 22-13-2. This rule updates Chapter 11 of the 2005 Indiana Residential Code to reflect changes in nationally recognized energy conservation codes approved by the United States Department of Energy. The estimated fiscal impact of the rule on one, one or two family dwelling is $1865.50. This cost is an unfunded mandate on any unit of government that builds a new one or two family dwelling.
