    Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

    OVERVIEW: Amends 345 IAC 2-7 governing the state chronic wasting disease herd status program for cervids, such as deer and elk, to be consistent with a new federal rule governing interstate shipment of cervids. The rule will amend and add animal health requirements for moving cervids into Indiana, within the state, and to exhibition. The rule will amend requirements for enrollment and participation in cervid herd disease status programs. The rule may address animal health requirements to control risks associated with chronic wasting disease, tuberculosis, brucellosis, and other diseases. The rule may make other changes in the law of animal disease control in cervids. Questions and comments concerning the proposed rule may be sent to the Small Business Regulatory Coordinator for this rule. Statutory authority: IC 15-17-3-13; IC 15-17-3-21; IC 15-17-15-9; IC 15-17-15-11.
