    DIGEST

    Temporarily amends 312 IAC 9-3-4 to govern hunting white-tailed deer in a designated county under an extra deer license by identifying counties for herd reduction. Effective September 1, 2014.


    SECTION 1. (a) This SECTION supplements 312 IAC 9-3-4(g) and governs hunting deer under an extra deer license in a designated county.

    (b) A person may take an antlerless deer under this SECTION of this document only if:
    (1) issued a license to hunt deer with:
    (A) a resident extra deer bonus antlerless license under IC 14-22-11-10(a) or IC 14-22-12-1(a)(18);
    (B) a nonresident extra deer bonus antlerless license under IC 14-22-12-1(a)(19);
    (C) a resident youth consolidated hunting license under IC 14-22-11-10(b) or IC 14-22-12-1(a)(24);
    (D) a nonresident youth extra deer bonus antlerless license under IC 14-22-12-1(a)(32);
    (E) an apprentice license of the types identified in clauses (A) through (D) under IC 14-22-12-1.7;
    (F) a lifetime comprehensive hunting license under IC 14-22-12-7(a)(4); or
    (G) a lifetime comprehensive hunting and fishing license under IC 14-22-12-7(a)(5); or
    (2) hunting deer without a license under IC 14-22-11-1 and 312 IAC 9-2-14.

    (c) The season for hunting deer under this SECTION of this document is as follows:
    (1) From September 27 through 28, 2014, with a bow and arrow, crossbow, firearm, or muzzleloading gun.
    (2) From October 1, 2014, through January 4, 2015, with a bow and arrow or crossbow.
    (3) From November 15, 2014, through November 30, 2014, with a firearm.
    (4) From December 6, 2014, through December 21, 2014, with a muzzleloading gun.
    (5) From December 26, 2014, through January 4, 2015, with a firearm or muzzleloading gun.

    (d) The seasonal limit for hunting under this SECTION of this document is one (1) antlerless deer for each deer license issued under this SECTION of this document, with the exception of the resident youth consolidated hunting license and lifetime comprehensive hunting licenses listed in subsection (b).

    (e) An individual who hunts under this SECTION of this document may use a bow and arrow, crossbow, or any firearm that may otherwise be lawfully used to take deer under 312 IAC 9-3.

    (f) 312 IAC 9-3-2(b) through 312 IAC 9-3-2(d) and 312 IAC 9-3-2(m) through 312 IAC 9-3-2(z) apply to a license issued under this SECTION of this document.

    (g) An individual must not exceed the county bag limit from each county as follows:

    A county bag limit of "A", as used in this subsection of this document, is one (1) antlerless deer. Notwithstanding subsection (c), a deer taken under this SECTION in a county with a bag limit of "A" must be taken only from November 27, 2014, through January 4, 2015.

    (h) Notwithstanding subsection (g), a youth hunter may take one (1) antlerless deer in a county with a bag limit of "A" during the special youth deer season pursuant to 312 IAC 9-3-4(b) on September 27 and 28, 2014.

    SECTION 2. (a) This SECTION is supplemental to 312 IAC 9-3-4 and governs the activities of an individual who is hunting deer on the following department properties:
    (1) Anspaugh Wetland Conservation Area.
    (2) Atterbury Fish and Wildlife Area.
    (3) Aukiki Wetland Conservation Area.
    (4) Badal Trust Area.
    (5) Bittern Bog Wetland Conservation Area.
    (6) Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area.
    (7) Cedar Swamp Wetland Conservation Area.
    (8) Center Lake Wetland Conservation Area.
    (9) Chinook Fish and Wildlife Area.
    (10) Crosley Fish and Wildlife Area.
    (11) Curtis Wetland Conservation Area.
    (12) Deer Creek Fish and Wildlife Area.
    (13) Deniston Resource Area.
    (14) Dick Blythe Wetland Conservation Area.

    (b) On the department properties listed in this SECTION of this document, an individual may take not more than:
    (1) two (2) antlerless deer with archery equipment authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-3(b) during the archery season in accordance with 312 IAC 9-3-4(c) with a license type authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-2(f); and
    (2) one (1) antlerless deer with a muzzleloading gun authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-3(e) during the muzzleloader season in accordance with 312 IAC 9-3-4(f) with a license type authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-2(i);
    (3) one (1) antlerless on November 8, 2014, in a designated area on Deer Creek Fish and Wildlife Area in accordance with SECTION 1 of this document and approval from the property manager;
    (4) one (1) antlerless deer on November 22, 2014, on Roush Lake Fish and Wildlife Area in accordance with SECTION 1 of this document and approval from the property manager.

    (c) An individual may not take an antlerless deer on these properties from September 27, 2014, through January 4, 2015, except as authorized in subsection (b) and SECTION 2 of this document.

    SECTION 4. (a) This SECTION is supplemental to 312 IAC 9-3-4 and governs the activities of an individual who is hunting deer on Patoka Lake, except east of State Road 145 (in Orange County and Crawford County) and south of State Road 164 (in Dubois County and Crawford County).

    (b) On the department property listed in this SECTION of this document, an individual may take not more than:
    (1) two (2) antlerless deer with archery equipment authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-3(b) during the archery season in accordance with 312 IAC 9-3-4(c) with a license type authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-2(f);
    (2) one (1) antlerless deer with a muzzleloading gun authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-3(e) during the muzzleloader season in accordance with 312 IAC 9-3-4(f) with a license type authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-2(i); and
    (3) one (1) antlerless deer with a firearm in accordance with SECTION 1 of this document and 312 IAC 9-3-4(h) from December 26, 2014, through January 4, 2015.

    (c) An individual may not take an antlerless deer on these properties from September 27, 2014, through January 4, 2015, except as authorized in subsection (b) and SECTION 2 of this document.

    SECTION 5. (a) This SECTION is supplemental to 312 IAC 9-3-4 and governs the activities of an individual who is hunting deer on Greene-Sullivan State Forest.

    (b) On the department property listed in this SECTION of this document an individual may take not more than:
    (1) two (2) antlerless deer with archery equipment authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-3(b) during the archery season in accordance with 312 IAC 9-3-4(c) with a license type authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-2(f);
    (2) one (1) antlerless deer with a muzzleloading gun authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-3(e) during the muzzleloader season in accordance with 312 IAC 9-3-4(f) with a license type authorized in 312 IAC 9-3-2(i); and
    (3) the number of antlerless deer authorized in that county in accordance with SECTION 1 of this document from September 27, 2014, through November 14, 2014, and from December 6, 2014, through January 4, 2015, with bows and arrows or crossbows.

    SECTION 6. SECTIONS 1 through 5 of this document expire on February 1, 2015.
