    EXECUTIVE ORDER: 15-07

    FOR: PROTECTION OF THE INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD


    TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS:

    WHEREAS, in recent days United States Marines and a United States Navy sailor were killed in attacks at military recruiting facilities in Tennessee; and

    WHEREAS, in recent months and years there have been multiple attacks on American military personnel in this country; and

    WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Administration and the State of Indiana that we will take all measures within the law to protect those who have volunteered to protect us; and

    WHEREAS, it is appropriate and necessary that all military personnel be authorized within the law to be armed at all Indiana National Guard facilities and recruiting locations in Indiana; and

    WHEREAS, cooperation among the Indiana National Guard, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, state and local law enforcement and public safety agencies is critical in protecting military personnel;

    NOW, THEREFORE, I, Michael R. Pence, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Indiana and Commander in Chief of the Indiana National Guard, do hereby:

    DIRECT The Adjutant General of the State of Indiana, Major General Courtney Carr, immediately to develop and implement such policies as are consistent with the law to: arm military personnel at all Indiana National Guard facilities and recruiting stations in Indiana; enhance security at the aforementioned facilities; and cooperate with civilian law enforcement and public safety officials in furtherance of this order;

    ORDER The Indiana Department Homeland Security, the Indiana State Police and all other executive branch agencies as called upon to cooperate in the execution of this Order.
