INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Indiana Register Notice #08-01
On July 1, 2008, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) commissioner, Karl B. Browning, signed an order adopting the 2008 Indiana Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (IMUTCD) underIC 9-21-2-1 . Prior to adopting the IMUTCD, INDOT's commissioner received a letter from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) indicating FHWA's formal concurrence with the IMUTCD.
INDOT has posted the IMUTCD, along with the Commissioner's order adopting the IMUTCD and FHWA's letter of concurrence, on its website at:http://www.in.gov/dot/div/contracts/design/mutcd/mutcd.html
Under P.L.36-2008, SECTION 3,105 IAC 9-2 , the former rule governing uniform traffic control devices, expired on July 1, 2008, when INDOT's commissioner issued the order adopting the IMUTCD.
