EXECUTIVE ORDER: 07-09

FOR: PARDON

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;

WHEREAS, RICHARD CHAD BUNCE, who has petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1994 in Howard Superior Court III of Arson, for which he served his sentence without incident or violation of parole; and

WHEREAS, the petitioner, who served two years in the Indiana Department of Corrections and another four years of supervised probation, is now a 32-year-old man who has been a productive member of his community by remaining active in church, youth sports, and the Taylor Township Volunteer Fire Department, and has since the instant offense lived a law-abiding and productive life; and

WHEREAS, the petitioner has maintained steady employment and lived a life heavily involved in giving back to his community since his time of incarceration, and seeks to obtain his lifelong dream of being a career firefighter; and

WHEREAS, the petitioner has received three Life Saved Certificates and was named the 2005 Firefighter of the Year by the Taylor Township Volunteer Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, the petitioner has letters of support urging the Governor to grant this pardon from legislators, several community leaders, and co-workers; and

WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended to the Governor that this pardon be granted.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State, do hereby issue a pardon to RICHARD CHAD BUNCE.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 22^nd day of May, 2007.
