Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on June 10, 2016, at 9:15 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W064, Indianapolis, Indiana, the State Board of Dentistry will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule to add 828 IAC 1-1-25 to establish requirements for the prescribing of opioid controlled substances for pain management.

The proposed rule is needed to establish standards and protocols for the prescribing of opioid controlled substances by dentists for non-terminal, chronic pain, consistent with standard medical practices in pain management treatment, including the use of abuse deterrent formulations as required by Senate Enrolled Act 534 (2015).

Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W072 and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
