Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on May 22, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. EDT, at the Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Conference Center Rooms 1 and 2, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule to add 675 IAC 25-3 to adopt the 2012 International Fuel Gas Code, second printing, with Indiana amendments to create the 2014 Indiana Fuel Gas Code and repeal 675 IAC 25-2 (2008 Indiana Fuel Gas Code).

The Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has the authority to adopt this rule under IC 22-13-2. The proposed rule allows the use of new materials for the installation, alteration, and addition of fuel gas systems Class 1 structures, as well as incorporating an updated edition of the International Fuel Gas Code. The proposed rule will result in cost savings to the regulated community and allow the use of the new materials without having to obtain a variance from the Commission for the use of the new materials on a per project basis.
