Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on June 15, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 2, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Office of the Secretary of Family and Social Services will hold a public hearing regarding proposed amendments to 405 IAC 5-9-1 and 405 IAC 5-25-2 to correct conflicting IAC language regarding the number of allowable office visits per calendar year and to conform all IAC references to the number of allowable office visits to 30 per calendar year, per recipient, per provider without prior authorization.

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning has authority to adopt this rule under IC 12-8-6-10. Indiana Medicaid providers need clear expectations of what services require prior authorization and which do not for proper reimbursement. This proposed rule change will set clear expectations for prior authorization. The proposed rule is not expected to result in an increase of state expenditures. Furthermore, this rule will not have an impact on small businesses, as defined in IC 4-22-2.1-4.

All parties interested in the rule are invited to attend the hearing and offer public comments. In lieu of attendance at the hearing, written comments may be sent to: FSSA, Attention: Kristina Moorhead, 402 West Washington Street, Room W374, Indianapolis, Indiana 46207-7083. Correspondence should be identified in the following manner: "COMMENT RE: LSA DOCUMENT #09-928 PROPOSED RULE FOR ALLOWABLE OFFICE VISITS". All written comments concerning the rule received by OMPP will be available for public inspection at the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, 402 West Washington Street, Room W374, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
