Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on May 16, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. EDT, at the IURC Conference Center, Judicial Courtroom 222, PNC Center, 101 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule (RM #10-01) to establish the Indiana Lifeline Assistance Program.

The proposed rule will establish the Indiana Lifeline Assistance Program (ILAP), which will provide a substantial additional discount on basic telecommunications services for eligible Indiana residents. No requirement or cost is imposed by this rule that is not expressly required by the statute authorizing the adoption of this rule. Contributions to the ILAP fund are spread across all end-use lines in Indiana. Reasonable costs for administration of ILAP and for the consumer education and outreach required by this rule are reimbursable from the ILAP fund. Copies of any justification data (referenced data, studies, or analyses) are now on file with the Commission and available to be inspected and copied at the PNC Center, 101 West Washington Street, Suite 1500 East.

Copies of these rules are now on file at the PNC Center, 101 West Washington Street, Suite 1500 East and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
