Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on March 11, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 12, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Office of the Secretary of Family and Social Services will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to 405 IAC 1-17-1 to revise Medicaid reimbursement methodology for Medicaid-enrolled state-owned intermediate care facilities and state-owned nursing facilities to include state-owned psychiatric hospitals and on proposed amendments to 405 IAC 1-17-2 to include state-owned psychiatric hospitals as those that fall under like levels of care.

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning has authority to adopt this rule pursuant to IC 12-8-6-10. The amendment is necessary to more appropriately reimburse state-owned psychiatric hospitals in accordance with their costs. However, this rule will not have an impact on small businesses as defined in IC 4-22-2.1-4.

All parties interested in the rule are invited to attend the hearing and offer public comments. In lieu of attendance at the hearing, written comments may be sent to: FSSA, Attention: Bridget McLaughlin, 402 West Washington Street, Room W382, Indianapolis, Indiana 46207-7083. Correspondence should be identified in the following manner: "COMMENT RE: LSA DOCUMENT #09-192 PROPOSED RULE FOR STATE-OWNED PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITALS & COST-BASED REIMBURSEMENT METHODOLOGY. All written comments concerning the rule received by OMPP will be available for public inspection at the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, 402 West Washington Street, Room W382, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
