    Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on March 11, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 12, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Office of the Secretary of Family and Social Services will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to 405 IAC 5-3-13 to make a technical correction to bring the rule into conformity with current practices under 405 IAC 5-20-8 and on proposed amendments to 405 IAC 5-20-8 for purposes of adding practitioners who may be reimbursed for neuropsychological and psychological testing and includes practitioner obligations.
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning has authority to adopt this rule pursuant to IC 12-8-6-10. This Medicaid rule amendment will allow for IHCP reimbursement of psychological and neuropsychological testing performed by midlevel mental health practitioners that are directly supervised by an HSPP or physician. The billing would still be done through the supervising physician or HSPP. The testing performed by these additional practitioners is not expected to result in an increase of state expenditures. Furthermore, this rule will not have an impact on small businesses, as defined in IC 4-22-2.1-4.
All parties interested in the rule are invited to attend the hearing and offer public comments. In lieu of attendance at the hearing, written comments may be sent to: FSSA, Attention: Jeremy Brown, 402 West Washington Street, Room W382, Indianapolis, Indiana 46207-7083. Correspondence should be identified in the following manner: "COMMENT RE: LSA DOCUMENT #09-87 PROPOSED RULE FOR NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING". All written comments concerning the rule received by OMPP will be available for public inspection at the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, 402 West Washington Street, Room W382, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W451 and Legislative Services Agency, One North Capitol, Suite 325, Indianapolis, Indiana and are available for public inspection.
