    LSA Document #14-57

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: Amends 345 IAC 1 governing the traceability of livestock and poultry moving interstate. The primary purpose of the proposed rule is to conform the Indiana State Board of Animal Health's rules to the new United States Department of Agriculture - Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) requirements at 9 CFR Part 86 that establish minimum national official identification and documentation requirements for the traceability of livestock and poultry moving interstate, including officially identifying covered animals and moving animals with a certificate of veterinary inspection or other documentation. The proposed rule also makes numerous changes to 345 IAC 1 in order to clarify intrastate livestock and poultry documentation and identification requirements. The rule makes amendments to each article within Title 345 in order to align definitions with 9 CFR Part 86, relocate disease-specific requirements for livestock and poultry that are currently set forth in 345 IAC 1, and make technical updates and changes. Questions and comments concerning the proposed rule may be sent to the Small Business Regulatory Coordinator for this rule. Statutory authority: IC 15-17.
