    EXECUTIVE ORDER: 08-22

    FOR: PARDON


    TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;

    WHEREAS, GREGORY BUCHANAN, who has petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1994 in Marion County of Theft and Receiving Stolen Property, for which he served his sentence without incident or violation of parole; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner, who successfully served his sentence, is now a 49-year-old man who has been a productive member of society, dedicating his life to counseling troubled young men, and has since the instant offense lived a law-abiding and productive life; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner maintained an industrious life by ministering to youth as a counselor at the Rodeheaver Boys Ranch in Palatka, Florida; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to regain his rights and desires to take on more responsibility at the Ranch, has letters of support urging the Governor to grant this Pardon; and

    WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended to the Governor that this pardon be granted.

    NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State, do hereby issue a Pardon to GREGORY BUCHANAN.

    IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 31st day of December, 2008.
