    EXECUTIVE ORDER: 08-18

    FOR: PARDON


    TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;

    WHEREAS, EARL BLANTON, who has petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1972 in Elkhart County for Theft and voluntarily turned himself over to the law enforcement authorities, for which he served his sentence without incident or violation of parole; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner, who successfully served his probation sentence, is now a 59-year-old man who has been a productive member of society by volunteering for his local Church, and has since the instant offense lived a law-abiding and productive life; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner maintained productive employment at Tyson Foods in Arkansas for the last twenty-five years and also served our Nation in the U.S. Army and earned an Honorable Discharge; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to hunt with his grandchildren and has letters of support urging the Governor to grant this Pardon; and

    WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended to the Governor that this pardon be granted.

    NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State, do hereby issue a Pardon to EARL BLANTON.

    IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 25th day of November, 2008.
