    Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Office of the Secretary of Family and Social Services intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

    OVERVIEW: Amends 405 IAC 5-22 to provide that medical assistance will cover medically necessary occupational therapy services, physical therapy services, respiratory therapy services, and speech pathology services for individuals under twenty-one (21) years of age; to update the definitions of certain categories of necessary services; to update the licensure and supervision requirements for occupational therapy assistants in accordance with IC 25-23.5-1-6 and IC 25-23.5-3; and to require prior authorization for occupational therapy services and respiratory therapy services for acute conditions. Comments and questions may be addressed to the Small Business Regulatory Coordinator for this rule. Statutory authority: IC 12-8-6.5-5; IC 12-15.
