    EXECUTIVE ORDER: 11-14

    FOR: PARDON FOR JAMES LOWERY


    TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;

    WHEREAS, JAMES LOWERY, who petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1987 in White County of Theft, and Criminal Recklessness, for which he successfully fulfilled his obligations to the State without incident or violation; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner, is now a 42 year-old man who has been a productive member of society and has, since these instant offenses, lived a law-abiding life; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner honorably served our nation since 1997, including two tours in Iraq, seeks a pardon to advance his military career and other professional opportunities; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner currently volunteers with an association that assists veterans' dependants who have disabilities and he would like opportunity to hunt with his children; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner readily admits his past indiscretions were due to immaturity and poor decisions; and

    WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended to the Governor that this pardon be granted.

    NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State do hereby issue a Pardon to JAMES LOWERY.

    IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 23rd day of November, 2011.
