    Notice of Public Hearing

    Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on November 29, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 19, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Division of Family Resources will hold a public hearing on a proposed TANF rule.
    The primary goals of the proposed rule are to (1) exempt funds in 529 College Savings Plans and Coverdell Education Savings Accounts from the asset test for eligibility in the TANF cash assistance program; (2) add caretaker relative to the list of individuals to whom potential harm or the threat of harm should be considered when determining good cause for failing to comply with child support enforcement and implementing minimum sanction penalty periods for individuals failing to cooperate with the IMPACT employment and training program; and (3) toughen penalties for clients who are noncompliant with the IMPACT program by requiring them to complete two weeks of activities to be in compliance. The proposed rule amendments would not impose any requirements or costs under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3).

All written comments concerning the rule received by DFR and the proposed rule will be available for public inspection between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W451 (Legal Division), Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
