    EXECUTIVE ORDER: 07-15

    FOR: PARDON


    TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;

    WHEREAS, CRYSTAL SAMS, who has petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1999 of Criminal Conversion, a misdemeanor, in LaPorte County, for which she served one (1) day, was fined and placed on probation for 180 days; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner, who successfully completed her probation, is a 28-year-old Indiana resident, and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner has numerous letters of support from her supervising officers in the United States Marine Corps; and

    WHEREAS, the petitioner served her Country in the United States Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom, is a law-abiding, productive citizen who endeavors to become a law enforcement officer in the City of Chicago and received numerous commendations and certificates from our Nation for her service; and

    WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended that this pardon be granted.

    NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State, do hereby issue a pardon to CRYSTAL SAMS.

    IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 12th day of October, 2007.
