EXECUTIVE ORDER: 09-05

FOR: TERMINATION OF THE CERTIFICATION OF THE GOVERNOR'S HOOSIER HERITAGE FOUNDATION, INC.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS:

WHEREAS, in 1986, the Governor's Hoosier Heritage Foundation, Inc. ("GHHF") was created by Executive Order 13-86; and

WHEREAS, the GHHF was created as a means to cooperate with public entities and private enterprises to ensure that the state could provide the needed restoration, repair and maintenance of the many public and privately owned buildings, monuments, sites and works that are important to the state's history and heritage; and

WHEREAS, in 1998, Executive Order 98-23 established the Governor's Public Building Foundation, Inc. ("GPBF") to also create a means to cooperate with public entities and private enterprises to fund the operation, maintenance and use of the state's public and private buildings, sites and structures; and

WHEREAS, the state has two foundations with very similar missions; and

WHEREAS, the GHHF has been defunct for several years while the GFBF remains active in its mission; and

WHEREAS, the GHHF no longer has any assets attached to it; and

WHEREAS, it is a duplication of services and resources to have both foundations acting with the same mission; and

WHEREAS, EO 13-86 provided that the Governor may certify the Corporation and appoint directors of the Corporation who shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor and may be removed from office by the Governor at any time; and

WHEREAS, EO 13-86 stated that the certification of the Corporation by the Governor shall remain in effect until the Governor provides by Executive Order for termination of the designation.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Indiana, do hereby ORDER that:

1. The current directors of the Governor's Hoosier Heritage Foundation, Inc. are removed from office and the Governor's Hoosier Heritage Foundation, Inc. is hereby terminated/dissolved, effective August 28, 2009. Notice of this dissolution was filed with the Secretary of State.

2. The Governor's Public Building Foundation continues on with the mission of cooperating with public and private entities to achieve the state's interest of operating, maintaining and using the many public and privately held buildings, sites and structures that are important to the state's history and heritage.
