    Notice of Intent to Adopt a Rule

    Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

    OVERVIEW: Amends 345 IAC 1-5 governing rabies control. The primary purpose of the changes is to update the incorporation by reference of the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians, Inc. Compendium of Animal Rabies Control (hereafter referred to as the "Compendium"). The proposed rule updates the incorporation by reference of components of the Compendium from the 2008 edition to the 2016 edition. Amends 345 IAC 1-5-2 to clarify the ongoing revaccination requirements for dogs and cats three months of age and older. Makes other updates and amendments to rules governing rabies control. Questions and comments concerning the proposed rule may be sent to the Small Business Regulatory Coordinator for this rule. Statutory authority: IC 15-17-3; IC 15-17-6.
