  •    Dispensing of narcotic drugs for maintenance purposes. The administering or dispensing directly (but not prescribing) of narcotic drugs listed in any schedule to a narcotic drug dependent person for the purpose of treatment of his dependence upon such drugs in the course of conducting a clinical investigation authorized by State or Federal law in the development of a narcotic addict rehabilitation program shall be deemed to be within the meaning of the term "in the course of his professional practice or research" in IC 1971, 35-24.1-1-1(u) [Repealed by Acts 1976, P.L.148, SECTION 24; Acts 1977, P.L.26, SECTION 25.
