Section 848IAC1-2-13. Faculty qualifications; registered nurse programs

(a) The director shall be a registered nurse with a minimum of a master's degree in nursing and be employed full-time, excluding vacations and holidays, during the enrollment period of the students. A doctoral degree is recommended. The director shall have experience in the following:
(1) The practice of nursing.
(2) Nursing education.
(3) Administration.
(b) The nurse faculty member shall have experience in the practice of nursing and hold a master's degree. The majority of the faculty shall hold master's degrees with majors in nursing. The remainder of the faculty shall hold master's degrees in a field appropriate to their teaching or clinical responsibilities. The majority of the faculty shall be full-time employees of the institution. The reappointment of a person who does not hold a master's degree in nursing shall be made only if that person, within one (1) year of initial appointment, has a written plan of study for degree completion and has matriculated in a college or university. Continuing reappointment of a person who does not hold a master's degree in nursing shall be contingent upon orderly progression toward degree completion.
