  •    (a) Unless otherwise prescribed by the stewards or the commission, the official lip tattoo must have been affixed to a horse's upper lip or other identification method approved by the appropriate breed registry and the commission applied prior to its participation in workouts from the gate, schooling races, or workouts required for removal from the stewards' list, the starter's list, the veterinarian's list, or the bleeder/salix list.

      (b) The trainer, exercise rider, or trainer's designee shall notify the clocker or their assistants of the horse's name, the trainer's name, and identify the distance the horse is to be worked and the point on the track where the workout will start. Any licensee failing to fully cooperate with the clocker or their assistants shall be reported to the stewards.
