Section 71IAC3.5-12-3. Dead heats

(a) In the event the placing judges determine that two (2) or more horses finished the race simultaneously and cannot be separated as to their order of finish, a dead heat shall be declared.
(b) In the event one (1) or more of the first four (4) finishers of a race are involved in a dead heat, the placing judges shall post the dead heat sign on the totalizator board and cause the numbers of the horse or horses involved to blink on the totalizator board.
