Section 71IAC5.5-1-25. Safety helmets

(a) All jockeys competing in a race must wear a safety helmet that meets one (1) of the following safety standards:
(1) American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM 1163).
(2) UK Standards EN-1384 and PAS-015.
(3) Australian/New Zealand Standards AS/NZS–3838.
(b) Effective July 16, 2009, any licensee mounted on a horse or stable pony on association ground must wear at all times a properly secured safety helmet that meet one (1) of the standards in subsection (a).
(c) The licensee is responsible for providing sufficient evidence that his/her helmet meets a standard as listed in subsection (b).
