Section 680IAC2-9-3. Water level indicators

  •    (a) Each miniature boiler shall be equipped with a water gage glass for determination of water level.

      (b) The lowest permissible water level shall be at a point one-third (⅓) of the height of the shell, except where the boiler is of a vertical type equipped with internal furnace, in which case it shall be not less than one-third (⅓) of the tube length above the top of the furnace.

      (c) For small boilers where there is insufficient space for the usual type of gage glass, water level indicators of the glass bull's eye type may be used.
