Section 675IAC14-4.3-57. Section R403.1.3; seismic reinforcing

(a) Delete the title and text of SECTION R403.1.3 and substitute to read as follows: Footings in Seismic Design Category C₁. In Seismic Design Category C₁, as a minimum requirement, 2 #4 bars shall be placed longitudinally in the bottom of the exterior footings.

(b) Add a sentence at the end of SECTION R403.1.3 to read as follows: The required bars shall be placed in the bottom half of the footing, at least 6 inches (152.4 mm) apart and not less than 3 inches (76.2 mm) from the bottom and the sides of the footing.
