Change SECTION R312.1 as follows: (a) In the first sentence, add ", decks" between "balconies" and "or".

(b) Add a sentence at the end of the section to read as follows: Guards that are installed on porches, balconies, decks, or raised floor surfaces that are 30 inches (762 mm) or less above the floor or grade are not required to comply with SECTION 312.
