(a) The commission is authorized to make supplemental payments of money or awards of other items to retailers in connection with the sale of winning tickets or the sale of lottery games. Any such payment or award is deemed to be a "prize" within the meaning of IC 4-30-18-2, but will not be used in calculating the overall odds of winning the game as reported to the public.
