  •    The purpose of the adult protective services program is to provide a legal basis for intervention to protect endangered adults within the state of Indiana by receiving reports regarding adults who may be endangered, investigating those reports and providing a coordinated and proper local response to individual cases as they are substantiated. Responsibility for investigating reports of neglect, battery, or exploitation of endangered adults, as well as for securing the appropriate social, medical, and legal intervention, shall rest with adult protective services units, designated by the division of disability, aging, and rehabilitative services.
