Section 410IAC15-1.6-4. Outpatient care services

                    (a) If the hospital provides outpatient care services, the service shall meet the needs of the patients, within the scope of the service offered, in accordance with acceptable standards of practice. The service shall be under the direction of a qualified person or persons.

                    (b) Outpatient care services shall be appropriately organized and integrated with inpatient services, as follows:

    (1) Assign a qualified registered nurse to supervise the nursing care in outpatient care services.

    (2) Have appropriate personnel available.

    (3) Ensure a record is maintained in accordance with 410 IAC 15-1.5-4 and hospital policy.

                    (c) Outpatient care services may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    (1) Observation care.

    (2) Ambulatory care.

    (3) Other care programs designated by the hospital.
