Section 410IAC1-2.5-53. "Other potentially infectious materials" defined

  •    "Other potentially infectious materials" means the following:

    (1) Human body fluids as follows:

    (A) Semen.

    (B) Vaginal secretions.

    (C) Cerebrospinal fluid.

    (D) Synovial fluid.

    (E) Pleural fluid.

    (F) Pericardial fluid.

    (G) Peritoneal fluid.

    (H) Amniotic fluid.

    (I) Saliva in dental procedures.

    (J) Any body fluid that is visibly contaminated with blood.

    (K) All body fluids where it is difficult or impossible to differentiate between body fluids.

    (2) Any unfixed tissue or organ (other than intact skin) from a human, living or dead.

    (3) Any:

    (A) cell or tissue cultures;

    (B) organ cultures;

    (C) culture medium; and

    (D) other solutions;

    that contain HIV, HBV, or HCV.

    (4) Blood, organs, or other tissues from experimental animals infected with HIV, HBV, or HCV.
