EPSDT is a federally mandated preventive health care program covered by Medicaid. The purpose of EPSDT is to facilitate the introduction of young members into a continuing health care system that will detect abnormalities before such abnormalities become chronic or debilitating. EPSDT program services are covered by Medicaid subject to the limitations set forth in this rule.
