Rule 345IAC5-2. Definitions |
Section 345IAC5-2-26. "Limited contacts" defined

"Limited contacts" means the following:
(1) Any contact with a male animal or brief contact with a female animal from a different flock off of the flock's premises at events such as the following:
(A) Fairs.
(B) Shows.
(C) Exhibitions.
(D) Sales.
(2) Incidental contacts between:
(A) ewes being inseminated, flushed, or implanted; or
(B) rams at a ram test or collection station.
Embryo transfer and artificial insemination equipment and surgical tools must be sterilized between animals for these contacts to be considered limited contacts.
Limited contacts do not include any contact, incidental or otherwise, with an animal during or up to thirty (30) days after the animal has given birth or aborted, with an animal that has any visible vaginal discharge other than that associated with estrus. Limited contacts do not include any activity where uninhibited contact occurs with a female animal, including sharing an enclosure, sharing a section in a transport vehicle, and residing in another flock for breeding or other purposes.
