  •    (a) The IDEM cannot assure that a timely or satisfactory response under this rule will be given to written requests that are addressed other than to the hazardous waste records officer. Any IDEM officer or employee who receives a written request for information or disclosure of IDEM records shall promptly forward a copy of the request to the hazardous waste records officer, by the fastest practicable means, and shall, if appropriate, commence action under section 11 of this rule. For purposes of section 12 of this rule, the time allowed with respect to initial determinations shall be computed from the day on which the hazardous waste records officer receives the request.

      (b) While IDEM officers and employees will attempt in good faith to comply with requests for inspection or disclosure of IDEM records made orally, by telephone, or otherwise, such oral requests are not required to be processed in accordance with this rule.
