5. "Site characterization" means the work performed under the initial site characterization described in rules of the solid waste management board at 329 IAC 9-5-5.1 or work performed under further site investigations described in 329 IAC 9-5-6 and may include, as necessary, quarterly monitoring and pilot studies to determine the feasibility of remediation alternatives.
