  •    "Sanitary wastewater" (commonly called sewage) means the liquid and water-carried waste from residences, commercial buildings, industrial plants, institutions, and other places of human occupancy that is transported by sewers and is primarily composed of human and household waste. Sanitary wastewater, as received by a POTW, may contain a component of industrial waste.
