Section 312IAC9-6-2. Fish measurement

(a) Except as provided in subsections (b) and (c), the measurement of the length of a fish must be taken in a straight line from the tip of the snout with the mouth closed to the utmost end of the caudal (tail) fin when the fin is compressed so that the upper and lower lobes of the fin touch or overlap.
(b) The measurement of the fork length of shovelnose sturgeon must be taken in a straight line from the tip of the snout to the fork of the tail fin.
(c) The measurement of the eye to fork length of paddlefish must be taken in a straight line from the foremost point of the eye to the fork of the tail fin.
