Section 312IAC5-7-13. St. Joseph River in St. Joseph County; boating speed restrictions

  •    (a) This section establishes special boating restrictions on the St. Joseph River in St. Joseph County.

      (b) No person may operate a boat upon the St. Joseph River in St. Joseph County within a zone that lies between the Twin Branch Hydroelectric Dam and the western boundary of the zone. More particularly, the western boundary zone begins at the point that is located on the northern shore of the St. Joseph River that lies three hundred (300) feet from the nearest point of the Twin Branch Hydroelectric Dam. The line then runs parallel to the northern spillway and tainter gates of the dam for two hundred sixty (260) feet. The boundary line then turns one hundred twenty (120) degrees to the southeast and runs in a straight line for approximately two hundred sixty (260) feet to a point that is no closer than fifty (50) feet from the nearest point of the powerhouse of the dam. The boundary line then runs parallel to the powerhouse and ends at the south shore of the St. Joseph River.
